自稱排毒教父的林光常，因為出書推排毒餐宣稱可對抗癌症，被病患指控產品不但沒效，還延誤就醫，新北市一名罹患乳癌的呂姓女子，開刀後參加林光常簽書會，開始吃排毒食品，最後沒能抵抗病魔撒手人寰，家屬認為排毒餐導致病患延誤就醫，提告求償200萬，最高法院認定，呂小姐死因主要是拒絕化療、延誤病況，並非產品釀禍，判決家屬敗訴定讞。

一身西裝筆挺，態度誠懇，出書推排毒餐，號稱能抗癌改善腫瘤，林光常自稱排毒教父，當年還帶著見證人到處上節目，但事後卻遭病患控訴產品沒效，導致癌症轉移。已故病患呂育嫻(2007.9.17)：「我一個溫暖的家庭，3個小孩子快要失去媽媽的痛，請演給我看，我得癌症可以用演的嗎？」
號稱產品見證最大活招牌，現在已經病故，新北市的呂小姐生前曾頂著光頭露面，情緒激動，指控排毒餐誇大療效。
她說，7年前罹癌開過一次刀，之後參加林光常簽書會，開始吃健康食品，還簽約加盟開分店，對產品療效深信不疑，沒想到病情復發，癌症轉移，呂小姐病逝，家屬認為是被排毒教父欺騙，導致延誤治療時間，提告求償200萬。
排毒教父林光常：「她在看我的書之前、在見到我的面之前，她就告訴醫院拒絕化療，林光常也從來沒有說過吃排毒餐可以抗癌，林光常只是說，很多人用了他的方式都改善了。」
喊冤否認延誤病患治療，最高法院認定，呂小姐曾接受雜誌採訪，自稱拒絕醫院化療，認定這是延誤病情主要原因，判決家屬求償敗訴，林光常免賠定讞，聯繫不上呂小姐家人，無法得知回應，雖然民事求償落空，但刑事訴訟林光常遭判刑3年，清白與否，還有上訴空間。
