健保局宣布將從醫療端著手，控制藥品浪費，即日起將從去年12月的申報資料回溯審查，針對醫師對一病患單次處方藥品大於10項，以及醫療院所平均每張處方藥品超過5項者，將抽出來審查其合理性。

健保局醫審及藥材組組長沈茂庭表示，為了抑制藥品浪費，過去已針對經常至不同醫療院所就醫、重複領藥的高診次患者，進行個別輔導、提供符合需求的協助，即起也同步從醫師端著手，避免醫師在1張處方箋內開過於大量的藥品。
健保局針對開藥品項在最高前5%，列出下列加強審查原則：即日起從去年12月的申報資料回溯審查，若醫師對一病患單次處方藥品大於10項，以及醫療院所平均每張處方藥品超過5項者，將加強審查其合理性。
國內慢性病患眾多，健保局也提醒醫師，主動檢查患者健保卡的用藥紀錄，確認每位患者是否已在其他院所領過相同的藥品；若醫師不檢查就開藥，未來也將研擬不予支付。
