資料中心不是好生意

網路服務興起，帶動全球資料中心（Data Center）需求，其中網路巨擘Google規劃在台建置資料中心，市場預期將為產業或人才帶來新機。不過，宏碁董事長王振堂昨（10）日開砲，向政府直言，站在環保的角度看，資料中心不是好生意，獲利小、用電量、排碳量卻很高，外界將雲端跟資料心中畫上等號是錯誤的認知，雲端應是以應用、服務為主，他並不樂見外商來台建置Data Center。

對於資料中心非好生意之說，王振堂進一步解釋，宏碁自己是深受其害，近期公司在進行排碳量的評估，龍潭的宏碁eDC營收不多，但排碳量卻佔了宏碁很大一部分，國際大廠都相當致力綠化，但宏碁因排碳量過高，可能造成外界質疑，導致在企業社會責任（CSR）上有風險，目前宏碁eDC並無擴大的計畫。

但據了解，宏碁eDC今年將正式由宏碁集團切割。宏碁eDC成立以來，雖是獨立運作的單位，但營收為併入宏碁集團計算，宏碁eDC去年營業額約13~14億元，相較於宏碁合併營收約5,000~6,000億元來看，貢獻度不到1％，但營業利益率均維持在20％以上，目前約有200家客戶，機房為滿載狀態。

但因資料中心使用大量水、電等資源，宏碁eDC 1個月用電量約可供應龍潭鄉使用3個月，因此宏碁自去年開始評估，將讓宏碁eDC朝利潤中心模式運作，未來將完全以「安碁資訊」承接客戶或進行標案，營收也不再併入宏碁集團。

對於政府鼓勵外商來台建置資料中心，王振堂直言，資料中心賺不了什麼錢，卻引進一堆排碳量，對台灣沒有益處，對於Google將赴彰濱建立資料中心一事保持「Negative」（負面）的看法，全球資料中心應分散到全球10~20國家，「現在有誰要來設資料中心，不要歡迎！」但對於資料中心所需的設備，如伺服器代工、相關零組件等，對台灣電子業則是很大的機會。

王振堂表示，雲端最重要的是應用，電子發票就是很好的應用，政府應了解以雲端為基礎的應用才是主流，建太多資料中心對產業及民眾生活都沒有太大，但雲端應用對生產力和民眾滿意度卻會大大提高。另外，對於前宏碁eDC副總經理張善政入閣，王振堂表示，從產業的觀點，對於有心認真做事的人都歡迎、支持，也願意給予建議。
