　威而鋼會造成鼾聲如雷的後遺症？台中一名五十一歲男子，因夜夜打鼾就醫，用盡各種方法治療仍無法改善，吵得同床的太太無法安眠，最後發現是威而鋼惹的禍；因威而鋼可使海綿體充血勃起，鼻腔黏膜表皮海綿組織也會跟著充血腫脹，造成睡呼吸中止症及打鼾現象。

　真相大白後，其配偶同意停用威而鋼，果然鼾聲不見，夫妻才能夜夜共枕有好眠。

　這名男子因嚴重打鼾，被妻子逼著到台中澄清醫院耳鼻喉科求醫，經安排到該院睡眠醫學中心，做了一夜的睡眠品質監測，發現有睡眠呼吸中止的症狀，先後接受睡眠呼吸正壓儀器、手術治療，打鼾擾眠仍未見改善。

　澄清醫院耳鼻喉科主任劉博仁表示，一般睡眠呼吸中止患者，接受正壓儀器治療效果都不錯，但這位患者改善有限，且在接受低能量和低溫的「無線射頻手術」後仍然夜夜打鼾，在仔細追問下，才發現該患者有服用威而鋼助性的習慣，每三到四天，就會服一顆藍色小丸子。

　真相大白後，陪同就醫的妻子幽幽地說「只要晚上睡覺不打鼾就好，威而鋼以後就不要再吃了」。讓醫師感受到失眠患者真的很痛苦。
