英國媒體報導，精神科醫師宣稱，被奶媽照顧的男嬰，長大後可能易成花花公子。「每日電訊報」今天報導，佛里特曼（DennisFriedman）醫師在他的新書中指出，過早交出照顧小孩的責任，可能使小男孩在面對女性時有雙重標準，意味他結婚後還會認為有其他女人能打理他所有基本需求。


85歲的佛里特曼說：「這讓他了解到還有另一個女人。」「這使他的心靈分化，知道有天生的媽媽之外，還有實際照顧他的女人：這個女人幫他洗澡、帶他去公園、讓他感到他們其實是一體。」


「結果是，成長時他雖然知道總有一天會歷經婚姻，但是內心深處他的觀念是還有另一個女人，這個人不但知道、也能打理他所有需求。」


佛里特曼說，這個現象也會出現在女嬰身上，若她們有奶媽等人照顧，內心會出現「需求空虛」，反而會以酒精、毒品、性愛或金錢填補。


他說，這個理論或許不受兼顧工作和家庭的職業女性歡迎，不過嬰兒也有與母親「100%連結」的權利。解決辦法是，小孩滿1歲前不要僱用奶媽照顧。
