醫師也會變成病人，名醫罹癌過世，令人不勝欷歔。

台大醫院精神部主治醫師李宇宙五年前也發現肺癌，三年前過世，年僅五十四歲。李宇宙生前不諱言自己有三、四十年菸齡，對可能得肺癌似早有預感，他罹癌後，「從醫師變成病人」，還曾有病人接獲他死訊而鬧自殺。

台北榮總婦產科主治醫師楊勉力四年前也罹患肺癌第四期，直到癌細胞導致肋膜積水，呼吸困難才知得病，後併發肺動脈血栓離開人間，得年六十歲。

和信治癌醫院肝膽腸胃腫瘤科醫師林毓萌，在腫瘤破裂吐血，才驚覺罹患肝癌末期，他常看診到深夜，沒空吃飯，總以花生果腹，同事叫他「土豆伯」，過世時五十四歲，還有同事自責未勸阻他，少吃易含黃麴毒素的花生。

六十一年次的台大外科醫師劉明松，是Ｂ型肝炎帶原者，他從診斷得肝癌末期到病逝，只有三周。
