繼臍帶血之後，又有生技公司成立乳牙幹細胞，就是要儲存小朋友脫落的乳牙，未來能夠應用到再生醫學，為了怕乳牙遭受口腔內細菌污染，生技公司建議要提早拔除，但牙醫師擔心，健康的乳牙會自然脫落，早拔反而會導致恆牙亂長，牙齒列不整齊，以後還要靠矯正來改善。


　　躺在治療椅上的小朋友，勇敢的張開嘴巴，讓醫生阿姨檢查，有沒有蛀牙，換牙時牙齒會從根部開始搖晃，一段時間之後，牙髓量減少，乳牙自然會脫落，為了要存乳牙幹細胞，提早把孩子的乳牙拔掉，媽媽們認為不妥當。自己的孩子是因為恆牙急著冒出頭，已經擠壓到乳牙，才需要先把乳牙拔掉，否則他不會讓孩子活受罪，但因生技公司強調，乳牙必須在還沒蛀物牙或感染前拔起來儲存才有用，但什麼時候拔很重要，牙醫師說，乳牙拔掉之後，會出現一個空隙，如果不管它，牙齒會移動，影響恆齒的排列。


　　一但需要牙齒矯正，至少要花十萬塊，加上乳牙幹細胞研究，還在動物實驗階段，何時能運用到人體，沒是個未知數，家長要三思。（記者江麗君、楊宗穎報導）
