〔編譯鄭寺音／美聯社佛州帕克蘭十一日電〕過去幾年美國房市景氣進入最高峰，美國建商為解決建材短缺問題，從中國進口數百萬公斤廉價的石膏板牆因應國內所需，如今這些板牆卻成為十萬住戶的夢魘。當局近來收到數百名使用中國製石膏板牆的住戶投訴，指稱這種板牆會散發出像是雞蛋臭掉的腐蝕性氣體，讓他們出現胸口疼痛等症狀；從進口數量來估算，受到這類板牆影響的住戶可能高達十萬戶，議員已向國會提案，要求當局在釐清中國製石膏板牆的化學構造之前，先暫停這種建材進口。

美國會議員提案 要求暫停進口

住家使用中國製石膏板牆的住戶宣稱，這種板牆會散發有惡臭的硫化物氣味，氣味足以腐蝕銅管，使珠寶、銀器變黑。美國消費者產品安全委員會及路易斯安那州、北卡羅萊納州、華盛頓州、佛州、維州均接獲民眾申訴，當局都已展開調查。

長期接觸硫化物、特別是二硫化碳，可能引發呼吸問題、胸痛、影響神經系統，嚴重者甚至可能致命。

研究人員目前還不清楚板牆為何會造成健康問題，據研判可能是噴在石膏板上的燻劑或石膏板的材料作祟。中國製石膏板的成分之一，是煤的副產品「燃煤飛灰」（fly ash），其精細度不及美國製產品。中國官方目前尚未對此事發表看法。

卡崔娜重建區 接獲數百筆投訴

美國聯邦當局還在調查中國製石膏板牆的進口數量，但據美聯社分析，二○○四到○八房價飆漲的四年間，美國至少進口二億四千五百萬公斤中國製石膏板，其中包括石膏板牆與天花板，這些產品多數是在○五年卡崔娜颶風之後、美國建材短缺的○六年進口，使用住屋超過十萬戶，不過目前不清楚這些產品是不是都有問題。

目前中國製板牆的問題似乎集中在東南部地區，其中已有數十戶向建商、板牆供應商及製造商提告。在卡崔娜颶風重災區的路易斯安那州，衛生局短短數週就接到至少三百五十名民眾申訴。
