〔編譯管淑平／綜合報導〕花時間流連社交網站Facebook有助訓練腦力，這是研究「工作記憶力」的蘇格蘭史特靈大學心理學家亞洛威提出的觀點。她說，常上Facebook會強化與智力有關的工作記憶力，不過使用另一個當紅的微網誌「推特」（Twitter），卻會造成相反的效果。


她說，玩戰爭電玩、數獨，與玩Facebook有同樣的效果，而傳簡訊、看YouTube影音則和用Twitter一樣，都可能削弱「工作記憶力」。工作記憶力與一個人記憶、應用資訊的能力有關，對工作記憶力有深入研究的亞洛威相信，這種能力對一個人的成功影響，遠比智商還重要，曾提出以工作記憶力評估一個人心智能力，比智力測驗還精準。


英國每日電訊報報導，亞洛威七日在蘇里大學展開的英國科學節活動上提出這種觀點時，舉出她曾經開發一套訓練課程用於十一到十四歲學習遲緩孩童，經過八週訓練，這些孩童智商、識字和數字測驗都增加十分，「這是很大的效應。」


她認為，謀略性電玩，如戰爭遊戲，或許也能訓練工作記憶力，「我不是說這有益你的社交能力，但確實讓你使用你的工作記憶力」，包括掌握過去行動、策劃未來行動等；數獨、在Facebook上掌握朋友最新狀況也是在發揮工作記憶力。


至於簡訊、Twitter和上YouTube看影音等因其「即時」本質，無益工作記憶力，亞洛威說：「在Twitter上你收到源源不絕的資訊，但是也非常簡短。你不需要去處理這些資訊，注意力持續時間被縮短，也不太動腦筋、提升神經溝通連結。」
