自由時報╱自由時報 2011-08-06 06:01 討論 (+) 調整字級： 〔自由時報記者彭健禮／銅鑼報導〕銅鑼鄉武聖街有一棟維護良好的兩層樓木造日式建築物，目前已很罕見，它是已故醫師劉肇芳的故居，也是老一輩鄉民熟悉的「重光診所」，近年來成為電影、電視劇組的熱門取景地點，常有遊客造訪，屋內的一景一物讓人走入時光隧道，回到民國四○年代。
劉肇芳生於民國前四年，是銅鑼鄉第一位考取醫學院的傑出子弟，畢業後返鄉擔任公醫，民國三十八年在武聖街砌建「重光診所」，一樓是診所，二樓是住家。
劉肇芳的兒子劉家武，已從台灣中油公司退休，現在仍住在「重光診所」內，他回憶說，當初用檜木做為建材，父親要求嚴格，遠赴宜蘭太平山挑選檜木，再用火車運回銅鑼加工，大批的檜木原木運抵銅鑼火車站時，當時還引起鄉民圍觀。
劉家武說，早年都是平房，兩層樓的建築物少之又少，診所完工時，成了銅鑼鄉最顯眼的建築物地標，從公館鄉翻過雞籠山就能看見。

侯孝賢也在此取景
「重光診所」因外觀特別且維護良好，名導演侯孝賢在民國七十三年就以診所做為場景，拍攝電影《冬冬的假期》；公共電視《孤戀花》、《風中緋櫻》及客家電視台《大將徐傍興》也都來此取景。

仍保存原有的格局
劉肇芳在民國九十三年過世，兒女為了紀念父親，仍保留原有格局，並申請成苗栗縣歷史建築，診所內仍有看診室、藥房及古早的手術器材、骨董餐櫥桌椅等，吸引不少遊客參觀。

因木造房屋維護不易，劉家武與兄弟姊妹在五、六年前花了二百多萬元翻修屋瓦及防蛀；對於居住六十多年的老宅，劉家武有說不完的回憶，他笑說，為了維持老房舍的原汁原味及檜木香氣，他不敢裝紗窗、不敢裝冷氣，夏天晚上睡覺只能「掛蚊帳、吹電扇」。
