進入荒野之後，逐漸養成自備餐具的習慣，一開始是不製造太多垃圾，一次拋的東西沒有好東西，出門用主婦聯盟的筷包裝幾付筷子，後來看到衛生筷不衛生的報導後，更加深自備筷子的決心，去年發生大陸三聚氰氨事件後發現所有塑膠產品其實都有毒，而且也應該少用塑膠袋，還有紙杯紙盒的渡膜，所以我買自助餐也盡量自備便當盒(在車上放一個)，不買瓶裝水，生活小習慣慢慢改．

平鎮市六和高中國中部學生用免洗筷泡過的水拿來飼養黑殼蝦，結果2小時蝦子抽搐、1天內死亡、5天後爛掉。
學生用此項實驗參加科展拿到第3名。學生表示，免洗筷最毒，即便熱水燙過，也名列第二毒。

六和高中國中部學生參加全縣科學展覽包辦第1、3名，其中找出最毒日常用品這項最受矚目，因為和大家生活息息相關。

指導老師陳念雯、梁思梅及學生劉冠志、蔡育儒、宋柏儒、謝皓任等人，透過實驗發現的最毒日常用品前3名依序是免洗筷、燙過的免洗筷、自助餐店裝湯外帶的半透明塑膠袋。

宋柏儒等人先用500cc的冷水浸泡免洗筷，然後加熱到80度，再等到自然冷卻，前述步驟重複10次，再用這種水飼養5隻黑殼蝦，結果2小時開始抽搐，1
天就死亡，經過5天後，飼養水體變混濁發臭，完全看不到蝦的蹤影。

如果以這種水孵育綠豆芽、養殖浮萍，得到的結果差不多，5天內植物就會枯死。燙過免洗筷還是很毒學生們再用熱水燙過免洗筷，丟掉燙過的水後再重新浸泡，也有前述重複10次浸泡冷卻後，拿來養5隻黑殼蝦，結果是第2天才死去，顯然免洗筷燙過後還是很毒。

學生們表示，重複10次泡免洗筷溶出免洗筷內的二氧化硫。二氧化硫是用來漂白、消毒之用。不過他們沒有檢驗水中二氧化硫的濃度。
學生們建議，能不用免洗筷，最好不要用，非要使用的話，一定要先燙過再用，減輕毒性。

毒性名列第3名的是半透明塑膠袋，裝湯後溶解出來的是雙酚A、可塑劑，實驗第3天5隻蝦就會全死光
