當Google對外宣佈將推出自家網路瀏覽器Chorme的時候，當時掀起一片嘩然，讓幾個瀏覽器陣營緊張起來。而這次，Google似乎打算把版圖繼續擴張到作業系統 (OS,Operation System)上了？

當Google對外宣佈將推出自家網路瀏覽器Chorme的時候，當時掀起一片嘩然，讓幾個瀏覽器陣營緊張起來。而這次，Google似乎打算把版圖繼續擴張到作業系統 (OS,Operation System)上了？


根據Google的官方部落格上的內容指出，Google將推出以開放原始碼為基準的作業系統「Chrome OS」，主要是針對Netbook (也就是一般我們所說的小筆電)，或者是其他輕量級的PC平台。此作業系統預計於2009年內開放，同時搭載此作業系統的小筆電也預計在2010年上市。目前Google官方已經開始與合作廠商協商著手此項計畫。

在部落格內容中也提到此款作業系統以簡單、快速且安全為特色，可以讓使用者上網變得更為便利。而透過Google全新設計的系統安全結構，使用者將可避免現行大多數會碰上的病毒或安全性等問題。


而Google表示雖然Android不僅可在手機平台上執行，同時也能夠在機上盒或小筆電上運作，但「Chrome OS」與Android並非是相同的計畫，「Chrome OS」主要是針對大部分時間以網路應用為主的使用者而設計。


作業系統本身支援x86與ARM硬體架構，同時應用程式將以網路技術為基礎作開發，因此在「Chrome OS」可被執行的應用程式，也同樣可以在Windows、Mac OS以及Linux環境的瀏覽器上執行，如此對於跨平台執行上也將會相當便利。


看樣子，繼瀏覽器大戰之後，接下來又將要有一場作業系統大戰了？
