（路透華盛頓26日電）根據美國勞工部勞工統計局，美國境內一處煤礦發生的礦災，英國石油公司（British Petroleum）在墨西哥灣鑽油平台發生的爆炸洩油事故，再度讓礦業成為2010年最危險的工作之一。


勞工統計局數字顯示，在民間礦業中，2010年的致命職業傷害增加了74%，從前一年的99起增加至172起。


礦業的死亡事故比率，從2009年的每10萬名全職礦工有12.4人死亡，增加至2010年的19.9人。


英國石油公司在墨西哥灣中經營的深水地平線（Deepwater Horizon）鑽油平台，去年4月爆炸，導致11名工人死亡，造成歷來規模最大的石油洩入海中事故。


同樣在去年4月，麥賽能源公司（Massey EnergyCo）在西維吉尼亞州的上大支坑（Upper Big Branch）煤礦發生爆炸，造成29名礦工身亡。


警察行業緊追在後，成為繼礦業後最危險的職業，去年的死亡事故案例增加了40%，從2009年的96起增加至134起。


2010年在所有因公殉職的警官中，有57起與高速公路事故有關，48起跟殺人刑案有關。


勞工統計局表示，2010年美國紀錄有4547起致命職業傷害，比2009年的4551起死亡事件些微下滑。


根據報告中美國勞工部長索里士（Hilda Solis）的聲明，職業安全與健康法（Occupational Safety and HealthAct）於1970年通過時，每年約有1萬4000名勞工因工作而死亡。
