〔自由時報記者陳信仁 、林明宏／日月潭報導〕日月潭遊客人次直逼千萬大關，潭區周圍竟連一所私人診所都沒有，包括武登、頭社、水社、日月等四村人口近五千人，長期就醫看診都需要遠赴十幾公里遠的魚池市區，甚至二十公里外的埔里鎮才有大型醫療院所，如今遊客人數激增，日月潭醫療缺乏資源問題成為地方隱憂。
埔基設置急診醫療站應急
日月潭風景區管理處表示，為解決日月潭醫療資源缺乏問題，衛生署去年底委託埔里基督教醫院於伊達邵遊客中心設置急診醫療站，提供急診等服務，惟潭區腹地有限，加上人口不多，加上地租不低，確實很難吸引醫院或私人診所進駐。
日月潭觀光地區急診醫療站每天上午八時至晚上八時提供服務，除埔基醫護人員長期進駐外，假日也有署立南投醫院、埔里榮民醫院、竹山秀傳醫院及佑民醫院配合支援醫護人員。
醫療站指出，多數求診遊客多為跌倒扭傷、騎單車擦挫傷等簡易症狀，整月平均服務個案約三、四百人次左右，真正需要後送處理的個案並不多，該站雖主要處理急診個案，但當地民眾求診也都提供服務。
地方人盼設完善醫療院所
日月村長石春鴻說，潭區周圍的民眾平日除就近至衛生室看診，就只能到距離最近的魚池市區就醫，直到去年醫療站設立才帶給村民便利，但仍期待能有設備更完善的醫療院所。
縣府衛生局則強調，醫療站除處理急診個案，若有遇到重大傷患或是急症時，也有救護車轉送至大型醫療院所；至於開診所，業者需衡量成本，只能道德勸說業者能前往開設診所。
惟日管處統計，去年日月潭潭區周圍旅遊的遊客已有六百五十萬人次左右，今年保守估計至少超過七百萬人次，更推估可直逼千萬人次大關，醫療服務品質將面臨更大考驗。
鄉長陳錦倫認為，日月潭為國際觀光勝地，雖已設置急診醫療站，但若能鼓勵大型醫院至潭區設置分院，促使更多醫療設備與人員進駐，對日月潭醫療環境改善才有正面助益。


觀光地區設置分院的話~ 醫療業就變成百分百的"服務業"了!!!!!

「六日遊客多，診所卻關門，沒醫德」

「遊客半夜跌倒感冒拉肚子，到診所卻吃閉門羹」

「陸客：我沒帶那麼多現金，先賒帳」

「天龍客：風景區遊玩，診所居然沒有XX科醫師」

然後縣長出來震怒，衛生局就來「協調」
