自然也有許多原本受民眾愛戴的＂名醫＂，

雖說醫學中心以大吃小，弱肉強食，實為小醫院小醫師任人宰割，固然悲嘆
但是拿病患權益當擋箭牌，也過於矯情
不過，跟文林苑事件一樣

署立新竹醫院去年七月一日改制為台大醫院新竹分院，地方人士歡欣鼓舞，認為台大醫療資源得以南下，不過，不少慢性病患卻反映，還未享到台大的資源，卻因近來爆發名醫出走潮，現在不知要留在台大，還是要跟著名醫走，徬徨不知所措。

此外，竹醫十餘年來就改了三次名，一下省立、一下署立，現在又是台大，搞得「新住民」霧煞煞。

新竹市朱姓民眾表示，其妻去年於署新開刀，之後病情好轉，目前接受術後治療與長期病理觀察，原本以為改為台大後，各項醫療資源會進駐竹醫，讓醫療水準再提升。未料，醫師卻在改制台大後求去，目前不知要跟著醫師走，還是留在台大，由於當初會找上這位醫師，就是因為其名聲，現在很難相信其他陌生醫師，真是未蒙其利，先受其害。

陳姓民眾也表示，台大一改制，似乎就爆發醫師出走潮，很多名醫都往其他醫院發展，他的醫師轉到新竹縣的醫院駐診，但他住新竹市，若跟著老醫師，拿個藥要舟車往返，實在很辛苦。

對此，台大新竹分院則表示，去年七月改制至今年三月，確實有十八位醫師以個人生涯規畫為由退休或離職。但該院同時間也新進了四十二位主治醫師，新進主治醫師中有教授級醫師，五年資歷以上有八人，並非全然都是沒有經驗的年輕醫師。而竹醫改制後，門急診人次成長約十個百分點，住院人次也成長了十至十三個百分點，可見改制後的醫療品質仍獲民眾肯定。

台大並表示，竹醫的名醫轉任診所或是地區醫院，台大固然感到不捨，但若從落實健保分級制度的角度來看，小病或慢性疾病至診所或小醫院就醫，急重症到大醫院就醫，社會大眾能更有效運用醫療資源，也是社會之福。
