It’s amazing what people will believe if it’s written down somewhere. Today, a fake article was published, which stated that Jordan Chandler had confessed to having lied in court 16 years ago, where he accused Michael Jackson of molesting him. This comes shortly after the death of Michael Jackson, and was a clear attempt to cash in on everyone’s anger over the death of the King of Pop.
This “article” quickly spread through the Internet, especially over Twitter, where it spent a considerable amount of time in the trending topics.
A surprising number of people believed the article without question, despite the fact that it was on a new wordpress.com blog, with no history of accuracy and no sources. On top of this, the article was inaccurate and poorly written.
Here is the article in question, with some corrections:
After the sudden death of Michael Jackson, Evan Jordan
[Evan is his father's name] Chandler tells the truth.
In 1993, Chandler told a psychiatrist and police that he and Jackson had engaged in sexual acts that included oral sex, the boy gave detailed description of Jackson’s genitals.

[This whole part is poorly written and I'm not going to validate it by correcting the terrible writing.]Evan Chandler was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, “If I go through with this, I win big-time. There’s no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever…
Under the influence of a controversial father (Jordan Evan [Clearly the person writing this failed to even understand the Wikipedia article that he sourced his information from] Chandler) told his son to tell say that Jackson had touched his penis.[ ]Jordan Chandler then told a psychiatrist and later police that he and Jackson had engaged in acts of kissing, masturbation and oral sex, as well as giving a detailed description of what he alleged were the singer’s genitals. [Even worse than before, this is just a direct quotation from Wikipedia.]
” Now for the first time i can’t bare to lie anymore. Michael Jackson didn’t do anything to me, all was my father lies to escape from being poor.” [This is simply terrible English and no respectable reporter would write this badly. This is because this person is not a reporter, he is simply attention-seeking.]
Since the “article” was published, not a single respectable (or even disrespectable) news source has said anything remotely similar to what was said here.
This is just a warning to everyone: please don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Think about it first. Is this source reliable? Does this seem true? Don’t believe it because you want it to be true, believe it because you’ve seen proof that it’s true.
I am not saying that Jordan Chandler did not lie about Michael Jackson molesting him in 1993. We do not know if he did or he didn’t. All we know is that he did not confess to lying about it
