　政治鬥爭時，扣帽子是常見的手法，但在山難救援上，請收回廉價的帽子，並留給救難人員確保安全的空間。任何一條人命都無價，無論成敗，救難人員都是英雄，社會看待山難救援，請收拾激情，留給專業。

　民國八十九年七月廿二日，八名為第五河川局做固床工的工人因山洪突然爆發，受困在暴漲的溪水，其中四人因收拾工具來不及走避，抱在八掌溪中等待救援，但因各機關本位主義，加以器材不足，四名工人在ＳＮＧ車轉播下被溪水沖走。

　「八掌溪事件」與康吉成山難，兩起事件其實不能等量齊觀，尤其是山洪爆發難以預知，四名工人困在溪水中命懸一線，且因而殉難。

　反觀康吉成是登山遊憩，輕忽中央氣象局豪大雨特報上山在先，又與嚮導脫隊，犯了獨攀的大忌，難道康本人與讓伙伴落單的嚮導毫無責任？

　山難救援不是坐在電視機前的觀眾想像中那樣簡單，山谷中風向不定，突然間來一陣大霧，看不見五公尺外的伙伴；何況南湖大山五岩峰往中央尖山的斷崖與落石，是出了名的危險；因此山區救難不是在玩電玩「越南大戰」，救難人員緊急著裝，日夜跋涉趕抵現場、直升機冒著視線不良出勤，這都是在搏命。

　已故的美籍山區搜救協會教官狄克（Dick Sale），是國內山難救援現代化的啟蒙者，他給受訓學員的叮嚀是「第一先自保、第二自保、第三還是自保」，但國內救援任務執行當中，「激情」常凌駕「專業判斷」，在「莫讓八掌溪事件重演」的上綱下，要求救難人員「勉強」出勤，我們難以確知，有多少救難人員是在社會氛圍逼迫下殉職，但很確定在逼迫的氛圍下，殉職的機率大增。

　盼望家屬及民代留給救難人員專業的空間，並提供充足的資源，無論成敗，都要給予肯定，畢竟，搏命的是他們，誰無父母？
