台中市政府在大肚山上大興土木，準備蓋一座觀景台，不過整個工程沒有環境影響評估，還把一大片長著台灣野百合的原始林地剷除，環保團體和當地社區居民相當生氣，大罵市政府做法實在太粗魯。


被鏟除的景觀工地，好像被撕掉一層皮，和旁邊的原始林地形成強烈對比，但這麼大的一件工程，施工前竟然沒有環境影響評估。


居民很擔心裸露的土壤，一旦豪雨會變成土石流，尤其更令環保團體痛心的是，這一片草原疏林，原本是台灣百合的生長地。


對照以前百合花開滿地和現在光禿禿的景象，保育團體說，2007年發現這一片野百合時，還躲躲藏藏，深怕一旦曝光會被遊客破壞，沒想到市府的傷害比什麼都大。
