台灣醫療改革基金會執行長劉梅君呼籲器官移植資訊應該公平、公開、透明化，不要逼得患者盲目往大陸跑。但台中榮總腎臟移植醫師賀昊中不認同這項說法，他指出，醫改會應批評的是少數洗腎中心和腎臟科醫師。

賀昊中表示，洗腎利潤不錯，洗腎中心林立，搶患者搶得兇，故意隱瞞腎臟移植的資訊，或誇大移植腎臟後服用抗排斥藥的副作用，讓患者不敢登錄待腎，事實上，腎臟移植的存活率遠高於長期洗腎。

賀昊中說，台灣等待換腎有五、六千人，但一年換腎人數才一百多人。醫界人士透露，一顆腎臟的行情約七十萬元，分二次付款，檢查條件符合先付廿萬元，完成移植後再付五十萬元。「但賣腎者收不到一半的錢」。

到大陸換腎目前行情在一百至一百廿萬元，包括往返大陸的交通、住宿。
