英國救健保 外國病人將須「預付」醫療費

〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕英國當局為打擊「醫療遊客」，減少國家健康保險NHS開支，從今年4月起，非急診的外國病人會被醫院要求先支付醫療費用，否則恐被拒絕醫治。

英國《電訊報》報導，英國許多醫院試圖在病人出院後追討醫療款項，但絕大部分為失敗收場，日前政附帳目委員會的一份報告指出，當局已無法收回數億英鎊的健保款。

對此，英國衛生部長亨特（Jeremy Hunt）宣布，將修改相關醫療法令，未來海外病人若不能提出證明，其有資格獲得緊急醫療照護，需要提前支付「前期」醫療費用。

亨特說，為確保海外病患為其接受的醫療服務作出「公平的貢獻」，修改後的相關醫療法令將在4月上路。「我們的目標是每年回收高達5億英鎊（約192億台幣）資金，再將其投入病人護理上」。

《BBC》指出，目前積欠最大筆醫療債務的外國病患為一名奈及利亞婦人Priscilla，其在倫敦一醫院早產，欠了33萬英鎊（約1273萬台幣）。
