〔記者張聰秋／彰化報導〕「10多年來，重症病人未返院複診，他就追蹤到病人家裡，病人轉院就診，他還是追蹤到底！」這是彰化基督教醫院神經內科主任醫師王文甫的寫照，他看病像警察辦案一樣到處跑，希望協助減輕病患及家屬的負擔。


10年前，一名罹患癌症手術後下半身癱瘓的病患，未按時返院複診，曾替該病患看病的王文甫，一路追蹤到病患家裡，除了勸導家屬要讓病人持續治療及做復健外，往後每兩個月還到病患家裡噓寒問暖，雙方的情誼，由單純的醫療關係，昇華為相互信賴的好朋友。


一年前，另一名罹患日本腦炎、引發腦部神經病變的病患，王文甫每天到病房為病人及家屬打氣。


病患出院後，他也跑到病人住家追蹤照料環境，病人轉到其他醫院，他也跑到這家醫院關心，了解就醫狀況，讓病患的病情都維持得不錯。


王文甫表示，他對病人的付出，還不及病患家屬的一半，他追求的是心靈財富，醫病關係中，心靈財富越存越多。


他也常告訴人家，「要賺錢，不要當醫師」，因為當醫師是一種助人的志業，能帶給自己成就與快樂感，無須想據此累積物質財富。


王文甫說，他專攻失智老人的醫療區塊，老化是每一個人都會遇到的問題，他以同理心看待病人，把病人想成是自己的親人，自然而然就會樂於幫病人減輕病痛，協助家屬解決無助的困境。


彰基的同事也肯定王文甫的精神，他們說，許多個案都跟王文甫非親非故，即使醫療過程中還曾有發生訟訴的不愉快經驗，但都無法改變他對病患及家屬「視病猶親」的關懷，這種精神與其他醫師確實不一樣。

記得以前跟刀時，科內最資深的醫師（平常很兇的，R上刀都是戰戰兢兢的）突然很和藹可親的問我：「你們開刀有沒有遇過 endophthalmitis （眼內炎，細菌感染）」，我當時回答：「沒有。」這位資深的醫師接著又說：「那表示你們開刀開的不夠多，……開刀多了，一定會遇到……」
